If you’ve ever been to the DUMBO section of Brooklyn you’ve inevidably taken a gander across the river at the Brooklyn Bridge. Within that frame is a glass enclosure. That glass enclosure houses a carousel which was built in 1922.
The carousel was to be broken down and sold for parts in the early part of the 1980’s. She was saved when a woman, Jane Walenta, who submitted a bid for the carousel as a whole. In 1984 Jane purchased the historic piece and subsequently restored the ride to it’s original specs and now it sits beneath the Brooklyn Bridge….
