High Dynamic Range….

HDR

HDRIf there ever was a scene that demanded a bracketed approach this is it. Very dark shadows and very bright highlights was the challenge in this scenario.

After playing around with the exposures I determined that a whopping 6 exposures was needed to capture all the light in the scene. With this proper preparation processing this series was actually quite easy. Export to photomatix, adjust a couple of settings, import back into Lightroom, and then add a bit of clarity, a smidgen of dodging and burning and walla, a fantastic result.

So, really take a look at your scene, see the end result before pressing the shutter. Capture the necessary information in the camera needed to produce the end result. And finally, with minimal processing you’ll have your masterpiece.

Have a great weekend!
