365: MOT…Rugged…

Themed 365 Project

I can’t get enough of the Barnegat Lighthouse from this perspective. It really gives you the viewer a sense of the ruggedness of the terrain of one of the few undeveloped barrier islands on the northern Atlantic coast. Island Beach was first described by Henry Hudson in 1609 and protects the Barnegat Bay from the relentless surge of the North Atlantic. I believe most people wouldn’t associate good old New Jersey with scenes like this(one of the reasons I love venturing down to this spot).

  1. About the only thing I know about New Jersey is the expressway. But blogging has certainly proven to me that there is a lot more to New Jersey than that. This is lovely and I’m with Ron – the tones in the dunes are beautiful.
